Default Adding EGR fitting to LS6 manifold

i am thinking of modifying a spare LS6 intake manifold to accept EGR for emissions-compliance reasons. I am considering an installation much like SLP’s

I know that SLP used Swagelok components. Does anyone know what fitting is used inside the manifold? And was it turned down to achieve its smooth shape inside the manifold?

I’m hoping someone that owns such a manifold could post new detailed pics of the mods. I tried the search function but with photobucket images no longer visible, it limits the effectiveness in this instance.

You could just bolt on an LS1 manifold.

Thanks for the response.

I should clarify that I am looking to replace an LS1 manifold with the LS6, but need EGR to make sure it’s emissions compliant.

Technically you don't need the EGR for visual emissions. The sticker on the drivers side fender doesn't list the EGR as an emissions device on the 2000-2002 Camaro and TA. The EGR isn't pictured at all.

Thanks. I’m working with a 1999 F-body.

Take a look at the sticker. I'm guessing that they used the same sticker for the entire production run since the 2000 also had EGR.

Get the dorman ls6 or dorman ls2. Both have egr fittings.
Our ported dorman ls2 also outflows the ls6 by quite a bit and still looks factory and wont break the bank!
2 more options for you with less hassle.

Does the ported LS2 outflow a FAST 92mm?

Good question. Not sure. But it is still less expensive ported. There is some testing out there, but not sure about a direct comparison of them.
It is made from the FAST lower though so it has good bones.

My guess is probably not... but may be close. And unless your heads are ported either will flow more than any Stock cathedral Head

I had the SLP LS6 intake on my '98 Z28 at one point. It was a great option at the time! The only reason I got rid of it was to go with a FAST 92mm w/Nick Williams TB combo.

Take a look at SLP's instructions on page 4. There's a complete diagram of the fitting:

http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInst.../847-30041.pdf

...and no, I don't remember the fitting being ground smooth inside the manifold. I remember it as pictured in the diagram...but I did have to cut the stock EGR fitting to fit the SLP fitting (page 3 of the directions).
