Need a 3rd water temperature tapped hole, WHERE?
I need a third drilled & tapped hole for temperature sensor.
Anybody know where one might be located on a 2000 LS1 engine?
Reason is that there is an LS1 engine swapped into my Miata.
Currently have the rear tapped hole on the passenger side head using the Miata temperature sensor to work the idiot gauge in the dash.
Currently have the drivers side front of the head using the factory LS1 sensor to give an accurate reading to the ECU.
Needing a third location so that I can add the aftermarket temperature gauge so that I can see actual temperatures.
The only other option I can see would be if one of the other sensors would work accurately with the gauge sensor but only intend to try that option if there is no viable place to put a third sensor.
Thanks for any help.

What about using a TEE fitting if it will fit?

Possibly find a spot on the water pump itself; Looks like there might be a few places that would work.

Was hoping for something already drilled & tapped.
Could go that way if absolutely required.
Anybody have a picture or thread that shows the best location to drill & tap?

Rear passenger side head has the same port as front of drivers side head. Why not use that?

What about swapping one sensor out for a 3-wire sensor?

Yeah.
I used to run a temp sensor that had 2 outputs.
It's actually 2 sensors with a common ground.
Someone will know the part #, I'd bet. I don't...

Another idea for your project is to run an in-line radiator hose adapter for your sensor.
