Default Oil Pressure Sensor Relocation

I'm getting some oil pressure fluctuations at my gauge (at 325,000 I'm not complaining). I'm planning to relocate my OPSU to the boss that is just above the oil filter. I was going to lengthen the electrical, if need be, and leave the old sensor in place.

Has anyone taken this approach?

I would first connect a mechanical gauge to see what is actually happening. That way you KNOW.

Absolutely. I will connect the mechanical gauge on the piece that I'm mounting above the oil filter.
