Default Hooker Headers are JUNK...

So I spent $550 for LS1 Ceramic Coated Hooker headers with AIR (for emissions reasons). After 3 months they started to rust. Sent the car to Bobby Skipkovic at Steel City Performance for a cam swap and he found out the headers had a warped flange. Out of the box they were leaking at cylinder 8. Really disappointed in the lack of quality.

Replaced the junk Hookers with TSP and no leaks.

Yep, from Summit Racing. Bought them last year and only had them on about 1500 miles. Always had a fluttering sound from the passenger side.

Yea,, falling off since about 1981.. LOL
Problem is they actually own a bunch of factories and QC is all over the map on their products.
They bought out several other companies over the years and ran them in to the ground too.

Well read the forums for latest feedback.
Texas speed and speed engineering are most popular,
unless you are going kooks or arh, ones are I listed above are best bet.

i would still call hookers.

To be fair, I don't think I've found a "big" name header that had ceramic coating that didn't fail. Pacesetter, Hooker, JBA, etc... seems the coating only lasts if it isn't there (stainless) or if it's applied by Jet Hot. The warped flange, that's awful...

My pacesetter amor coated headers are still like new after 1 year. I'm in the desert though.
