Default Takin a crack at my own ram air set up, updated 6/3/18 with pics

Got materials together and had time this weekend. Wanted to try to make a max effort track only set up that I could easily switch to street trim.
so built a sealed ram air system from the bumper holes merging to a 4" pipe
When done at the track ill remove the top 90 Go in into maf put the tray and filter in and the lid .

That's pretty slick. I'll be curious what you gain from it

Is this going on a Trans Am or Camaro? Was there a lot of fabbing and cutting?

I fabbed the merge from 4" mandrels. I had to notch the core support for it but that was from keeping the AC, not want in to give that up! Lol .I made new holes with nutserts that moved the lid base/cowl back about a 1/2" for more clearance

Thanks, nice fab work! I've got no a/c (dedicated track car) and don't mind cuttin'. Already "cut" #451 out

Love it. Years ago I considered making the exact same setup for my LT1 car in hopes of squeezing more out of it at the track. I ended up just sticking with my factory Ram Air setup so it's cool to see someone do what I never did. Reminds me a lot of the Vararam I've got on my C5Z:

You may have a problem getting a good reading @ maf . You might want to move the maf in front of the 90 , ideally 6" of straight preceding the maf
Run it both ways at the track, Street vs Ram air ....... but your tuned for street corrrect

the vara ram did have an influence on design..does real well for the vettes and allowed me to leave as much of the radiator exposed to the air from the air dam as I could.
