My car was a daily and I had Dave make me a SS3800. It wasn't horrible for daily driving, but it was close. It was extremely noticeable and real slippery on light throttle take off, I would imagine your PT is probably a little looser feeling than the SS. And for me, if mine had been any looser feeling I would have hated it. But I also drove a ton, I drove anywhere from 500-800 miles a week with about half of it being city traffic driving.

But I also went from 2.1 ish 60 ft times to 1.6x 60 ft times and it was an absolute blast to drive.

My Pt4000 was definitely looser than my ss3600 but it was a bit more efficient at wot and had better shift extensions.

I don't daily my car so it's hard to say if it would bother me. I would say the ss3600 would not have bothered me a bit and my current pt4400 I think may get a little old if I dailyed it.

I rebuild my own transmissions but am far from a expert. At the same time I was switching to a pt4400 I had also just got done with a fresh 4l60e rebuild so if you can imagine during the first drive it was a bit hard to decipher between converter slip and possible transmission issue lol.
In the end all was good and the Pt4400 is a blast for a weekend warrior.

Imo yank definitely nailed it with the ss3600 and it's a very good all around converter and will suit Op perfect.

I agree about the SS3600 being a great converter.

I should rephrase, mine didn't bother me, but I'm sure it bothered my neighbors. I had true duals and the street leading out of my neighborhood was a little uphill, so it was impossible for me to keep the car down low in revs while trying to leave the neighborhood quietly.

Also that the amount a converter slips is tolerated differently by some people. Some would not like the amount of slip with the SS3600, but that annoyance is quickly forgotten the second you hammer it
