Flex Plate compatibility issues

Talking Flex Plate compatibility issues

Hi all, my name is Brent I`m a newbie to forums (please be patient :-)) I have a 2004 Chevy avalanche with a 5.3L mated to a 4L60e transmission. I`ve just rebuilt a 1999 GMC 6.0L to swap into the Avi. My problem is the crankshaft on the 6.0L sticks out at least a 1/4 " further than the crankshaft on the 5.3 L, so I cant use my dished 5.3 L flex plate as it sticks out too far for the starter gear to engage it. If I flip it around, the heads from the torque mounting bolts hit the rear engine cover. PLUS The torque wont sit flat on the flat 6.0 flex plate, because the bolts that hold the flat flex plate to the crankshaft, hit the back of the torque. Any suggestions, or recommendations, would be greatly appreciated!!

You need a flat flexplate and to have the converter pilot that goes into the crank cut down to fit. I have the same setup (long crank 6.0 / 60e) and used the JW 93019-LSC flexplaate. It's SFI approved and has both the 60 and 80e bolt patterns.

Hey..just to clarify,you mentioned I needed a flat flexplate..the part number you mentioned was for a dished flexplate...or am I missing something?

Sorry about that, the part number for the flat one is JW 93019-LS without the C
