I just caught your putting a 40x in it and would rather it be purdy instead of having more performance???

With throttle bodies, you get what you pay for. $80 throttle bodies leak, don't hook up right, and are very difficult to tune.
i swapped from a mid runner fast to a low sniper and I should have lost low end tq but I couldn’t tell a difference at all down low but it gained a lot of mph

Purdy, that rules the TBSS out. LOL.

Some folks shave the outside TBSS, sand smooth and paint. It's sort like putting lip stick on a pig. Might help the pig's self-esteem but it's still a lip stick wearing pig.

I'm done flow testing my TBSS and was hoping to find it a new home for $150 plus shipping Has fuel rails & fuel Injectors. I think the injectors are 34#

Well at least the TBSS has a Purdy price.

So will my 6.0 truck fuel rails work on the Dorman? Actually I’m not even sure if I should use them because I’m aiming for about 600 hp peak. I’m just mainly curious if I need a certain type of fuel rail. Ideally what I’d like to run is a -8 feed, split to two -6’s (one into each rail), -6’s out to a -8 into a regulator, and a -6 or -8 return.

Edit: where would you mount a fuel rail pressure sensor with aftermarket fuel rails, or is it even necessary?

BTR has a really nice aluminum intake coming out that's supposed to really shine... Just throwing it out there.

It's a 408 going in a S10 sized truck... I think the guy can afford to lose some low end torque, don't you?

Another slightly off topic question, but my donor truck is MAF and I’d like to just run MAP. Will the stock ECU support that, with a proper tune of course?

What about a 408 stroker with boost? Assume VFN cowl hood. Do I have to cut the cowl or is there an intake that will do just as well without having to cut the cowl?

Mine will be boosted when I do the 2nd part of the build. A low carb-style intake with an elbow will fit under a stock hood. A taller one will fit under a small cowl

I wonder how well the fast 92 will work on a 1000 hp application. Found this, but the cam wasn't changed to account for the intake swap. A long runner intake will make more power throughout the curve than a short runner.

Here's a good read: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/20-l...-manifold-lead
