Champion filters are also garbage and Mobil 1 has changed quality so many times over the years, as has K&N - so why would anyone pick a brand that is so inconsistent? Mobil1 and K&N filters aren’t even made by them, they’re outsourced. Buy from a company that actually makes their own filters and whose quality has always been top notch. There’s a reason everyone swears by Wix.

Wix filters are good but the last one I bought said made on china lol, Not sure how consistent they are anymore.
PS why point out the obvious....My post stated that they were made by champion and yet you felt the need to point it out again?
Actually, K&N filters are NOT what they used to be and I stopped running them a couple of years ago after I had issues with them on my daily driver AND my Z28. I tried one on my '15 Equinox V6 and it wouldn't seal properly. Tried to make it tighter and it still wouldn't stop. Went back to the stock AC Delco and problem disappeared. Not long after that, I did my annual oil change on my Z28 and used a K&N as well thinking the Equinox issue was just a fluke, and I was shocked when the K&N on my Z28 wouldn't seal properly either. TWO completely different part numbers. I switched over to WIX on my Z28 and all has been well again. Do a brief internet search and you'll see K&N started outsourcing in the mid to early 2010's (like around 2014 or so I believe) and you'll see sealing issues were noted problems. Have they fixed it by now? I have no idea, but they've lost me as a customer and I'm not trying them again to find out...
