New Exhaust Questions
I need to change my exhaust to a catted setup so that I can get my car to pass Virginia safety inspection. Currently, I have Speed Engineering 1 3/4" inch LT's, O/R Y going into the stock SLP dual/dual. I am thinking of just changing it up and doing the GMMG system from Madhammer to put into the SLP CME and American Racing 1 7/8" LT's with a catted Y. Coming from 1 3/4" inch headers with O/R Y to 1 7/8" with high-flow cats would a re-tune be recommended? I wouldn't think so, but just want to make sure.
Also, would this GMMG setup with the high-flow cats be louder than my current catless SLP Dual/Dual setup? I have never heard a GMMG system in person, but even with cats, I can't imagine much being quieter than an SLP Dual/Dual.
Thanks for any help!
I have the SLP dual/dual setup on my Firehawk with LT headers and ORYP and love the way it sounds.
My "guess" is the GMMG is going to quite a bit louder due to the difference in muffler design.
Also I doubt you would need the retune, but if you can do it yourself or get it done fairly cheap it wouldn't hurt.
You won't be disappointed with it though, its well crafted and sounds amazing. Cheers.
