Default 2005 silverado dbw throttle body options.

Hello all recently swapped a cammed 6.0 in my silverado that is my daily and was wondering what my options were to increase my throttle opening size. While tuning I’ve noticed past 4000 she’s struggling to breath and want to fix. I’d prefer to keep dbw. I am a capable individual with efi live and a laptop and don’t want to mess with cable. So far I’m coming up with tbss intake nick williams throttle body and x link. Those things are not cheap and while for the performance if I must I’ll do it just wondering if there was another alternative. Thanks any insight as long as constructive is always appreciated

TBSS Style intake and 4 bolt throttle bodies are cheap. 4 bolt throttle bodies are like 87 mm

Not sure about a way around the X link but I believe it can be done.

I’m sure that would get me the air I need im those upper rpm ranges. Thanks I’ll look into it.

Really...? What size cam does the 6.0 have? I doubt the intake is a problem. Check this out. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/20-l...ifolds-tested/

it’s a small truck cam .500 lift with 209/217. 10:5:1 compression. I’m running off road y pipe with no cats. Just thinkin throttle opening larger would help my case as well as the tbss intake

Not really, in that HotRod article the showed ...

Truckintake
Construction: Composite
Runner Length: 11.0 in
Throttle Opening: 2.960 in
Throttle-Body Size Tested: Accufab 78mm
Fuel Rail: Stock truck
Injectors: Holley 75 lb
Peak Power: 549 hp at 6,900 rpm
Peak Torque: 481 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm
Ave HP (3,000–7,000): 431.2 hp
Ave TQ (3,000–7,000): 450.8 lb-ft
TQ at 4,000 RPM: 454.5 lb-ft

What We Like: Availability and performance
What We Don’t: Ugly
I think your camshaft is the cause of weakening above 4000 rpm. I bet it has goobs of low end grunt though!

Its not weak I just noticed the intake isn’t able to reach atmospheric pressure and is under vacuum past 4000. Yeah it’s very responsive with lots of torque.

Have you checked for atmospheric BEFORE the MAF? The restriction might be in the air cleaner or ducting before the MAF

air cleaner is brand new. It could be the ductwork. I’ll fail the maf and run speed density mode and do a pull with out it on to verify
