Default 2000 LS1 coolant temp sensor location

I just got a 2000 trans am a couple months ago, needs some help getting uneffed, everything works fine but the wiring and some other items are suspect. It has headers and egr & air pump removed, uses just the front O2 sensors.
the coolant sensor is in the rear of the right side head, not the front of the left head, so was the motor apart and they put the heads on the opposite side?
the wiring for the coolant sensor is spliced on the left front and runs over to the right rear. I would think they would drill and tap all the heads for a coolant sensor, not just one.

Also my wiring harness on the left side of the engine is not good, bare wires etc, taped up, where is a good source for a harness? or am i replacing the entire engine bay?

thanks

The sensor hole is in both heads. No such thing as right and left heads.

Yea they most likely installed the driver head on the passenger side. Ive been in a hurry and done the same before lol. U can remove the sensor and plug and install back as factory. Your choosing!

After reading another post I looked closer and saw they broke off the sensor on the left head, so they put it in the right head and added wire.
thanks for the help to confirm the other things.

Wiring harnesses? any good source for new wiring that isn't making it all from scratch?
thanks
