Running a distributor on an LS

Running a distributor on an LS Before anybody says just run an MSD, I can't due to class rules. I am building an iron headed LS that must use a distributor. I've ordered the GM cover but would really like to avoid the 2000 dollars worth of front accessory drive setup they recommend using. Is there anybody out there that has setup a distributor in an LS utilizing a mix of stock front accessories to make it work? I'll take any suggestions, there is very little information I can find about it. Thanks!

Don't know if it would pass tech in your venue.
Use a LARGE HEI style cap and distributor, install 8 motorcycle coil on plug coils inside.
remove the shaft and bottom of base, Use a micro-squirt inside to drive the coil packs..
Wrap the wiring and use a CPS off the Flywheel.
Drill hole in timing cover and run a bolt up into the base Look at a old Buick to see what it should look like.
You can feed the cam position sensor up though the hole for the old shaft.
I saw it used to make a old rod look traditional and hide the ignition.
