Finished the PCV conversion. I actually countersunk the cover and used 8m-1.25 35mm bolts!

Went with professional products intake instead and a speed engineering 92mm throttle body, went ahead and updated the pcv valley pan and new knock sensors. I’ll get a SLP LID soon and some minor exhaust work. While it was down I installed a level one speaker set from Keeaudio, a vendor from here and man it sounds good. Added a set of 12inch subs with 5000 watt mono block.

Next on the list :
speedometer isn’t working.
passenger side DRL and turn signal doesn’t work.

Did you use the Typhoon intake?

"This manifold is the result of over one year of development and testing and has proven to provide significant increases in power. In direct comparison dyno tests against a factory LS6 intake manifold, the Typhoon produced 17.7 more horsepower* at 6,200 rpm. It also makes more power and torque at low and mid-range engine speeds than other aftermarket manifolds. This design features a larger plenum volume, which makes the manifold suitable for larger displacement engines and boosted applications. The manifold has nitrous bosses positioned on the port runners."

Has me curious, almost 18hp over a ls6 intake? stock fuel rails and everything work with it?

Yes, the kit comes with rails and they work with stock injectors, I had some issues with getting them to seal, the key is tighten the brackets really good and align them properly. Its even cheaper on eBay in satin. I think 249 shipped. I did have to add a -6an fitting to connect to fuel line and keep it in stock location but that was pretty simple.

Finally got the tune done, thanks to anything automotive and performance in Denton TX. I’m not making the power I hoped for but I have a solid running car and some direction on why. The biggest thing is the 3500 stall not really making power until 4K. Currently I’m at 314hp at the wheels per the dyno but I think it’s about 390/400 without the slipping. Any thoughts and or advice?

That seems low to me, but hows it drive?

On a mustang dyno I did 330 through an unlocked stall, which shouldve been 360-ish on a dynojet. I have long tubes, true duals, stock intake, slp lid,ws6store hotcam which isnt all that big. I was told 330 was low, but I still think my car can go 11's with good tires.

It pulls hard way up in the power band. 4K and up its hauling. I see the graph flashes almost vertical. I guess we will need to track it.

It has long tubes no cats no rear O2, and it’s running on a speed density tune. Not sure if the rear muffler.

Hm, I dont know then. Just gotta run it and see. Before the true duals, dyno tune, and stall I went 12.7 @ 111/12 or something on street tires and a pcmforless tune. With the Stall and good tires I really hope to see 11's but id take a 12.2 or so, .5 seconds isnt asking the world of a stall converter gain and the true duals pick up power everywhere over a y pipe setup. If you arent in the 12's with a 60' of 2.0-2.2 something is wrong.

Well you were correct, tranny gave up 4300 miles after tune. I don’t know what brand stall this is but I replaced it with a Boss Hogg 3200-3500 stall. If anyone knows please educate me!

Who in the DFW recognize this converter?

Who recognize this converter?

It should be done tomorrow. I Have the BTR stage 3 camshaft kit ready for install. There were no identifiers on the camshaft. I looked with the granny out, no luck.

Default Btr stage 3

So today I was pulling the trans am apart to do a cam swap and complete the build as I knew nothing about this car when purchased as far as the internal specs on lifters, cam, heads.

I pulled the cam and this is what I found. The 1st bearing is shot. All other bearings look good. The cam lobes look good except for one and all lifters rotate and look fine when I looked inside via mirror. I rolled all the lifters and inspected carefully. Took me a few hours but I got it done. Looking for some advise!

Cam Bearing

Numbers from Cam. No clue what these represents. Help!

Lope looks shot, I think someone installed this crap and sold me the car. It doesn’t add up the damage I’ve found.

No chain tensioner installed.

Replaced cam bearing, hopefully this will hold.
