Default After build thoughts and advice

Ok so I dunno if this belongs here of not but here goes.

I have a 2000 C5 Coupe M6 that I recently have installed a new engine in following a lifter failure.

Specs are as follows

Forged TSP 383 Stroker (GenIV aluminum block) with -8cc dished 3.903” Wisecos

PRC 225 As-Cast with 60cc chambers and regular stainless steel valves (wanted hollow stem but apparently that was over looked at order)

TSP Torquer V2 cam (Cam specs are 232/234 .600/.600 112LSA)

Vararam B2 cold air with their power tube

Stock LS2 TB (un ported)

FAST 92 (un ported)

OE LS1 fuel rail

Big green 42lb injectors

OE style MAF and MAP

TSP LTs with catless x-pipe

BB Fusion axle back open flow

As for drive train it is all OE with a LuK LS7 clutch

My problem is as you can see in the dyno graph the engine seems to be running out of air after 6k and drops of quickly. I am seeking advice from experienced people (as I cant get the shop to respond to me with advice) on what I should do to help? I dont want to change cams since I literally just got this all installed.

Would having the FAST 92 and the LS2 TB ported carry me up to the 6-6500 level? Or go to a FAST 102? I have read the fitment on a C5 with these is hit or miss as is. Can one run a Nick Williams 102 on a C5 and is it even worth it over a LS2 TB? Sadly I was advised by the shop (and by TSP on the cam) that the FAST 92 and V2 cam were both good for a 383 build and it seems the info may have been off slightly. When I had the same heads and TB with a 228R and Dorman LS2 it would carry to 6500 peak and still rev to 6800 easily.

Anyways any advice and thoughts would be great!

Current 383 dyno graph

Original shortblock and H/C/I build before lifter let go.

Sounds like a cool car. I am pretty close to picking up BB fusions for $500 locally. How do you like yours?

Hopefully yours work. Mine never have and the support has sucked lol.

I did buy mine used and have tested the vacuum to the control box and have great hold. The valves move when the button is hit. Wont stay closed, they just open right back

A Fast 102 might give you a couple hundred more rpm before peak since the runners are slightly shorter.

OE with trunnion upgrade. No signs of valve float that I see. You thinking 1:8s would help?

I think the OE's are good. Thought maybe it was heavy nose aftermarket roller rockers causing it to nose over early. Tend to agree with Darth about the cam being off a tooth or maybe over advanced.

No input from me except I would like that 440lb ft of torque at 3k rpms. :-( Ls1's suck there.

Bigger cam. Otherwise its working good imo. Bigger cubes needs bigger cam respectively. Call TSP and get them to spec you one for the RPM range you want it to run in

Was it leaning out too much at the top end?

Just by the way it was black smoking I highly doubt it was leaning out.

Careful with the black smoke, these low tensions rings wash out fast. Black smoke is richy rich

I agree that something sounds up with the cam. Out of curiosity, what was the final compression ratio? 60cc chambers with dished pistons seems like compression would've dropped a fair bit.

Wasnt told the final CR....just going by what Texas Speed said it would give me based on the heads/chamber size that I had already.

It's the cam. Overall I think it did well and I would leave it alone. It's making power where it should. I bet you it's very strong and torquey. You could gain a bit more from a 102 but it's a lot of money and work for maybe 15hp. Youd be better suited spending the money on suspension and weight.
