Perhaps different brands of headers will not sound noticeably different, but different metals will. QTP and Kook's are stainless steel headers, the others are mild steel. There will be a sound difference there.

FLPs are coated mild steel. Their Y-pipe is decent but certainly not the best.
The real beauty of FLPs is the ease of switching back and forth between cats and ORPs but I think there are other better LTs out there and they're cheaper too.

my friend, click on that search button above and start eating your wheaties. read up. asking lots of quesiton on this you are going to be bombarded with info, and the occasional jrp comment of "******* search button"...i would advise you to do some homework. Search around the board here, look at other posts, threads, forums even. check out the tuning forum, do a search there. You will get alot more info as its all over this message board. Even check out other boards as well man.

pm some people ask them about their set ups, check out ls1sounds.com etc etc. there is plenty more you can learn than secluding it to this thread.

Best of luck

You may also check out PPC headers. They provide a complete kit (headers, y-pipe, RT cats, and all the accessories required for installation) that is emissions legal.

Regarding cat relocation, I was concerned about that as well and contacted the local emissions office. In New Mexico, moving the cats is not an issue.

Good luck!

Guys, you're forgetting about the best (for the $$) 304 stainless LT Headers + Y-Pipe (including RT cats). Stainless Works. Their sponsor link is over there.... --------->

Although not many people have them (at least that I know of) Dynatech Supermaxx headers also. Basically a stainless steel version of FLP's, including the y-pipe and cats. Only difference is the cats can't be taken out and replaced easily like the FLP's. Someone may comment on these if they have any experience. They are comparable with Stainless Works price wise I believe. I know this has been asked before but I have never seen it answered: Does anyone have a picture of the stainless works headers and y-pipe?
