Rebuilding top End
Rebuilding top End All,
About a year ago my 2001 F-body went down =(. Took it to my trusty mechanic and he told me I had 0 compression in one of the cylinders, half in another, and less than optimum in a third. He told me it would be around 4k to fix. I didn't do it and she has been sitting ever since, covered and crying each night. I finally decided it was time to knuckle down and start saving for a top end re-build (since I have to rip the heads off anyway to replace the gasket and such. So..... without further ado, lets get to my post/questionaire.....
I NEED HELP! I am not sure what I am doing and thus, I have made my way here. So here is my dream..... to rebuild the top end with much more power and get closer to getting to a 10 second car. Also, I am thinking super charger.
With the above being said...... what should I been upgrading?! I already have a 220/222 (I think) cam in it but maybe upgrade that to a bigger lobe? Also crank, pistons, and ported heads are on the list. I already have a 90mm mAF and ported throttle body with an upgraded air system (but of course that will change if I super charge it). So.... could you all chime in and help me create my list! If i give myself a budget of 10k, could I do it all? And what should I be adding to my list?!
Help me out guys!!!! I want to have this be a 10 second track car but beautiful enough to be a show car as well.
