Motor mount vibs
Motor mount vibs I have an 04 GTO. By that I mean the motor uses the F Body/Corvette motor mounts. I broke the left motor mount. I noticed it when the shifter became stiff and raised during the two-three shift at high RPM. So I dropped the cradle and found the broken left mount. It was torn about 2/3rds of the way through. Since, the cradle was down, I changed the right side too, although it appeared good.
The upshot is that it fixed the stiff shifter, but the shifter linkage developed a loud rattle which wasn't there before. The shifter is a one year old Sykke and works great. I've used many different shifters over the years on several different cars, but this is one is the best. The mounts are Oreillys from China for about $22 each. The Delcos were like $200. Any thoughts on this?? In otherwords, are there better mounts less expensive than the Delcos?? Please don't suggest poly mounts unless you know they don't vibrate. The reason I bought the rubber/hydraulic OE type mounts was to avoid the vibs. Thanks.

WTF is a vib? Unless you mean vibe... JK man!
I was thinking that after the mount broke, the shifter or something might have gotten tweaked somehow, and once made right, the new tweak caused a vibration. Check it all over for anything "newly aligned". I would bet it is something along those lines...
