P1810 code after harness, pnp switch swap

P1810 code after harness, pnp switch swap I LS swapped my 1985 K20 chev truck a few years ago, I just stuffed the original harness and fuse block into the truck when I did it, a few weekends ago I put a painless stand alone motor and trans harness in the truck, the painless harness required a pnp switch with 2 plugs, the one that was originally on the trans had 1 plug. now when I cold start the truck i get a P1810 code and the trans wont shift into 4 or lock up the torque converter, if I clear the code it works great for a few trips, then upon start up it will instantly throw the code.
I have adjusted the pnp switch a few times and it still does it.
the original harness it never did this.
I am curious if the pnp switch not reading the gear position correctly could throw this, or since its 2 plugs instead of 1 the computer is reading it incorrecty.
anyone ever solved this before?? i am going to test the harness for continuity now.

That code sometimes indicates bad connection(s). Pull connectors apart, check the pins and sockets for any corrosion and/or potential misalignments, and reconnect. Usually just the act of disconnect/reconnect solves the problem by rubbing off corrosion, and it doesn't take much at all

I have removed and cleaned every connector multiple times, and it still intermitently acts up, I am goimg to borrow a good scanner from a friend and play with transmission tests.
is there anyway the difference in PNP switches could cause this??

I got it fixed (at least it hasn't acted up for a few hours) it was indeed the plug at the trans, sprayed brake cleaner and took a q-tip and gently cleaned it out, wiggled all of the wires and pushed them into the plug socket, plugged it back in and it hasnt acted up for a while now.
