Spark Gap affect Exhaust Smell & Power I was talking with a friend of mine and we got on the subject of spark gap.
If you have the gap smaller than stock, will you get more exhaust smell and reduced power?
Our thinking was that you have a slightly smaller flame and basically less of a bang.
On N20 & Boosted cars, you have to run a smaller gap anyways. Usually to gain one thing, you give up something else.

Smaller gaps usually have less detonation (see boosted cars). The old shcool used to be run it rich, with LOTS of timing, cold plugs & BIG gaps. They burned black, but ran like scat! On these cars, 1 stage cooler plugs seems to help quench detonation. And these cars like to run rich, which can make them smell, especially if you are running cheap, sulpher-rich fuel. (like Arco) And they like timing too....
