Cylinder contamination

I removed the intake manifold and in the process of doing so, I'm afraid some dirt or debris fell into the intake ports. I tried being as careful as I could, but just lifting it up and out kicked so much dust and crap. I was absolutely stunned by how much grease and dirt was under that manifold. I quickly taped up the ports and vacuumed the valley cover and port surroundings. What should I do? I don't want an engine disaster.

I'm planning on vacuuming out the ports with a small nozzle and i'm planning on putting a boroscope into the spark plug hole.

Compressed air will take care of most of it, especially where the valves are closed

I was thinking about that. I wish I had removed my valve covers and removed the rockers to make sure all the valves are closed.

A good shop vac on the intake ports and your fine. Any little amount of dirt left in the cylinder won’t hurt anything. It’s gone first couple revolutions. It’s amazing how much dirt and gunk gathers in the valley area on these LS engines.
