Default kooks headers and full exhaust?

bought a 2000 ss couple days ago no paperwork on the car, not much history either. I'm looking to put a real exhaust on the car. It currently has 3' true duals dumped before the axle Car is lowered and they bang around. They sound good but it could use a little calmer quieter exhaust. It has Kooks Headers on it. Trying to find what would fit with those headers. It has what i believe are these headers.

are there brands out there that bolt up?

Thanks

please move this, sorry just noticed this is "INTERNAL ENGINE"

I'm new

Check out Kook's y-pipes. You could use one to accommodate an off the shelf cat-back system like Magnaflow offers.

Kooks y pipe or true dual kits bolt up. People have different opinions on exhaust sound. Personally I have the Kooks duals and will never go back to a y-pipe again… but that boils down to opinion.

thanks, do you mean that any true dual system from another brand should slip on to the collectors?

Not sure I just know the Kooks system does work with the headers.

I know when I bought my car it had kooks headers and a y pipe that matched up exactly to the y pipe that came with my speed engineering headers that replaced them later on (dumb idea) so you might be able to get a speed engineering y or a TSP y and then mate that up to whatever catback you'd like from there. I'd personally make the swap back to a y pipe because IMO duals of any brand and muffler combo on these cars don't sound as good as the TSP catback I have. But that's a personal opinion and others may not agree.

ew imagine spending money on Kooks

I would not spend that much on headers, the difference is so negligible that it is not worth it but that is my .02

I'd gladly spend the money to have better quality headers. Made a huge mistake selling my kooks and an even bigger one putting speed engineering on. They tick, the flanges warp and lose bolts and studs, y pipe fits terrible, etc. My next set will be American Racing as I have read they fit even better than kooks. Plus the purchase is supporting an American company and workers. And after the last 2 years, that's more important to me.

the PROBLEMS I ran into tryin to install the TSPs.......was WELL worth the cost with the ease of install with KOOKS

NOT to mention the fitment was a qazillion times better than TSP

I'm in the "Buy eBay headers and run em" camp. I see no reason to spend $2k on headers just because big name company says so. I will say though that the last headers I installed were custom made and custom fit so that does make me a bit spoiled.
