Fan Mod?
I just put my 160 t-stat in and the car is still running about 200-210 I'm wanting to do the fan mod but I don't want my ses light to come on. What can I do to not get the light to come on and does anyone know where I could find a got write up with pictures.
Thanks

I'm not sure what the FAN MOD is but the temp that your stock gauge is displaying does not represent the actual temp of your coolant. The logic on the 99+ clusters really sucks and will read about 210* for a good range of temperatures. You can however get a fan control switch from SLP and make the most of your new t-stat or just reprogram the on/off temps of your fans with any editing software.

Check out this site...I did mine like this over the weekend and no problems so far. Make sure you get a DPDT switch or you'll make 2 trips to Radio Shack like I did.

I ran my wires through the firewall just behind the PCM...there's a small hole you can go through. Look at SLP's website on the instructions for their fan install if you have trouble.
If you don't want the LED's (like me), check out this thread for switch wiring

You'll still want to consider getting your fans programmed unless you want to constantly be turning your fans on and off. Good luck.

i did mine about a month ago and i used this site http://users.oco.net/xero/fanmod/ . i love it because you can leave the switch in the off position the computer will turn on the fans when it did before, or you can do them urself. plus the leds look cool in the car
