If this does occur then you would certainly have some difficulties getting the engine restarted, but vapor lock is not a guarantied problem.

Similarly, a failed check valve can cause problematically long cranking times for an SEFI engine - including the need for multiple primings to get it started.

But neither of these states represents normal operation for the respective systems, just failure modes that will prevent quick restarts only when such are occurring.

I had one dodge truck that would vapor lock and have had literally hundreds of cars/trucks over the decades, It was a rare problem and most people never had an issue with.

My family had a carbureted Dodge van and part of my basic driver training was to learn how to stop it from dieseling after shutdown.

I drove an '83 Dodge 150 van with a 318/2bbl for several years as a daily driver, about ~25 years ago, it never had a problem with dieseling or vapor lock. Then again, neither did any of the other dozen or so carb'ed vehicles I've owned. I think state of tune, local climate, etc., probably play a big role in these circumstances.

Back in the day I had many Jeep Cherokees with the 4.0 6cyl. From the late 80's to the early 2000's it was a know issue on those vehicles that the fuel pumps were a bit underpowered and the fuel lines a bit undersized. You could get in and crank away and it would take as many as 20 starter revolutions before the engine would catch. The prescribed remedy as issued by both AMC and later Chrysler became to turn the key to on and let the pump run until it shut down then crank it and they generally started instantly. The pumps were quite noisy so it was really easy to tell when it stopped. This was how they solved the problem instead of upgrading the pump and lines for the entire production run.
Not suggesting that is your problem but it is something you can try until an actual soloution is found.
