It's not a work ethic issue really, The cost to manufacture in the USA is 10x the cost to manufacture in many other countries and you can easily see why, China doesn't give a **** about regulation. They don't have OSHA, EPA the list goes and on and on. The people are poor and work long hours for pennies compared to most modern countries. Think about it for a minute, Companies can ship raw materials all the way to China, Have them make a part and ship it back for a lot less than they can have it made in this country. Almost nothing is truly made in the USA anymore, Hell take apart a product that says made in the USA and most of the time you will see all the components were made in another country and thrown together here just so they can claim it was made in the USA. I took apart a totaled 2017 Buick Lacrosse and very little was actually made in this country, There were labels from China, Canada, Mexico, India, Tiawan, Pakistan. I think it's funny to hear people say they won't buy that China **** and yet they are without even knowing it.
Nothing seems to be exempt, I dated a girl who went to Colorado and came back with some hand made pottery that she bought from an Indian Tribe, One of the pieces fell and broke and inside was a little white slip of paper that said 'Made in China' She was so pissed that she broke them all and yes every single piece said the same thing inside where you couldn't see it.

As far as work ethic is concerned, That's also been a problem for as long as I can remember, One of my first jobs was for a company that would regularly bring everyone into the break room and lay off about a 3rd of the employees and the very next day they would have new people to replace them.It was an easy way to get rid of under performers or people they just didn't like, I couldn't tell you how many people I trained over the years I worked there. That was 40 years ago. Hell I don't stay at jobs very long anymore because companies don't value employee's like they used to. I worked at one for 8 years and busted my *** putting in 55-70hr a week. They gave raises by position not by employee performance and not only that new hires were paid 25 cents less than everyone else, Here's the kicker after 90 days they were bumped up to the same pay. So a guy who had 25 years of experience made the same as the guy who had three months under his belt. Many companies are also top heavy, They pay CEO a ridiculous amount while telling employees that they have to cut positions to stay profitable but expect the same output.
I just got a check in the mail yesterday that was part of a settlement from when the company I worked for suddenly closed (LME trucking), When they closed I was owed $4,300 in wages,,, The check I got was for $203. Thanks to our government the owner was able to walk away without losing anything and any company related assets were sold to satisfy secured creditors first, The unsecured creditors next and then lawyers fees and court costs and then what was left went towards employee wages. People no longer see the job security that they used to and many times are left feeling like they are disposable and they are.

"With those kinds of numbers, America will forever be safe from foreign invasion in large part due to hunters".
Was reported that that was the reasoning behind Japan not invading the mainland USA.
"There was an American with a gun behind every blade of grass".

That plus the logistics of supporting an invasion across the Atlantic Ocean to the right, the Pacific Ocean to the left. Plus two friendly countries named Canada and Mexico to the north and south make invading the USA in a military sense very nearly impossible.

5th column left wing/socialist/communist attack rotting the country out from the inside is the only viable method of attack in my opinion. China's current leader Xi seems to excel at turning a blind eye to black market fentanyl production...

Of all the Cold War Soviet leaders Nikita K is my favorite. He said lots of catchy phrases like: “We will bury you”
