How does this make you feel?
Have a look around, some speed shops, even they say these are made in USA. What's a person think when it arrives with made in china on the box...
How does a person send a product out like that....
I'm 50 freaking years old and I never been told something was made in the USA and it had been labeled otherwise. Yea, I know companies have moved to china and other places and when I buy their product I know it at that time.
What does 2022 have to do with it? Well, I guess people don't care anymore, dignity and ethics are gone, and if you say anything about it you're the bad guy. I'm SO, SO SORRY I brought it up.

I just received a couple parts for my Nova this week, from Trim Parts in OH. It seems that they are now part of a parent company called RPUI (Restoration Parts Unlimited, Inc), this was not the case last time I ordered from them. I was worried about possible china outsourcing and/or other quality issues related to the restructuring. Trim Parts has always been a benchmark of quality in the restoration industry with much of their product line being produced on original GM tooling and made here in the US; I have never been disappointed in their products. Good news is that the items showed up with "Proudly made in USA" labels and the quality was as excellent as I've always come to expect from Trim Parts.
If it says "made in USA" it sure as hell better be.
What I posted above is the offer to buy that other brand for $11 cheaper a piece, If I had done that I assume it would have came in a plain box with a made in china sticker but the same invoice inside. Then I would have thought 'yep chinese knock off cherry bombs, oh well' But they would be the exact same muffler.
I only got these because they aren't just the same chambered welded muffler, but they have that angled piece inside that has shown to make more power, I showed above that the alternative $31 muffler has that same feature listed.
I don't care that much, really. I have a 92mm ebay throttle body that looks Exactly like the one a guy I work with has, but he paid $450 for his. I forgot the brand of his, but it is exact. Even the Holley Sniper is exact as the $56 chinese one I have that says made in china. It works great.
Anyway I checked out some stuff today while picking up some exhaust hangers.
Made in USA (I guess)
I worked for a US manufacturing company for 36 years. At every trade show each year there was no end to the third country's folks wanting us to out source our machine shop work to them. Across the board I took great pleasure in telling them to take a hike.
Side note. A German company that we worked with and made really good stuff sold a machine to a business in Asia. Within a year the Asia company was knocking it off. Asia doesn't care about US/International patents.

Same address.
and a picture says 1,000..I recently purchased a used Leupold Vari-X III rifle scope from Ebay. All of the new ones you see are from China now and I knew this one was in fact Made in U.S.A. It really is hard to get away from products made in China when companies are outsourcing their products to be made on the cheap and not passing those savings onto the consumer. BS if you ask me.Until (and maybe never in my lifetime) this country feels the suffering and trials that once made us great, things will continue to spiral downward from a spiritual, cultural and economic standpoint.
God bless you all.
Merry Christmas!
- If you add up all the hunters with firearms in the US, America has the world’s largest army/militia.
- A blogger once added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:
- There were over 500,000 hunters this season in the state of Minnesota.
- There were over 600,000 sold in the state of Wisconsin.
- Over the last several months, Wisconsin’s hunters would be equal to the eighth largest army in the world.
- More men under arms than in Iran.
- More than in France, England and Germany combined.
- These men were deployed to the woods of a single American state to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.
- That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan’s 700,000 hunters.
- Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that:
- The hunters of those five states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. The number of Hunters in the state of Texas would be the largest standing army in the world by itself at 1.3 million armed hunters.
- The total number of armed American hunters who know how to use their rifles was 36.4 million in 2017. With those kinds of numbers, America will forever be safe from foreign invasion in large part due to hunters.
But other than that I think of my job. No one wants to work anymore. I'm in a position where I can choose to work with whoever I want so I picked this 27 year old guy. He won't buy decent tools he just uses and ruins mine, he won't do anything unless I tell him to, plus a lot more, but I chose him because he doesn't complain and whine like most of the others. EDIT... actually when I was 20 guys in their late 20's were in charge of jobs already.
When I was 20 I felt awkward if I wasn't doing my part, and if I didn't know what to do or how to do things. These people don't seem to care, and we can't find anyone who does.
So whats this have to do with this thread? What if you put these people in a muffler factory, I can't imagine. What are work ethics like in china? We're all human. Really the sticker is the only evidence that these mufflers were made in china. Unlike in the early 80's I still have tools I bought at Kmart that were made in china. It's very obvious, very poor quality.
Thats why I said earlier 'welcome to 2022' , Americans who are physically capable don't want to work. Sure it seems like a good idea to feed the American worker, but are they working?
Why does American made cost so much because the American work ethic I see isn't worth ****.
It wasn't like this when I was younger and thats something I never heard my parents or grand parents ever say. We busted our asses to get to where we are.
I'm not a professional writer so I apologize if my thoughts are all over the place.
On the bottom of the box it has this printed.
" Made in PRC under license from Mueller Austria"
I thought great, something not made in China but when I got home I realized.......PRC = Red China!

...So that's where PRC heads come from..
