'99 383, oil burner
Car in question is a daily driver,99 z28 with a t56, eagle 383,speedmaster heads, btr stage 4 cam, melling high volume oil pump, vr1 full syn 10w30.around 5k on the build. can provide additional info if needed.
So, when i got this car about 2 months ago it has a speed engineering catch can on it, one of the rectangular ones. it was obviously pretty old, and caught NO oil whatsoever, later i found it did not have a PCV valve anywhere in line, stock ls1 valley.
So fast forward to present, i put a cylinder shaped speed engineering catch can on it, with a duralast pcv valve. I got the speed engineering true duals installed about a week and a half ago, right after i put in an ACT clutch, and its got oil all over the tips. Being my 3rd LS car, i know they can put out some soot, some oil, but in a week this amount of matter on the exhaust tips seems pretty insane. Say i run it up to about 4000-4500 while rolling, light pull kind of scenario, then stop at a red light, it`ll lightly but very noticeably smoke until i get rolling again, then at the next light it wont smoke, or atleast that i can notice inside of the car. doesnt lose or taint coolant.
PCV is routed- 2 lines off the rear pass/driver side ports that feed into the pcv valve, fat side facing the back of the car. air from pcv valve then goes into the lower port of the catch can, and the top port is hooked straight to the intake. vent tube has been untouched.catch can does catch oil, in a month it caught about 4 soda capful`s, which seems very low compared to my last fbody. changed the plugs (tr6) yesterday after they had sat in the car for a month, and they had some oil on the threads. not really a 'whoa, thats messed up' amount of oil, but it was noticeable. do i have the pcv valve backwards? is the catch can hooked up backwards? valve seals? really not sure what i am missing here.
