this harness that comes with the alt is a must....I first thought I did not need it....boy was I wrong

the plug connection is at the bottom of the alt....I first extended the wire with a new plug with longer wire....the check gauges light on the dash came on..could not figure it out.....called mechman and thats when i found out I needed the H104 wire harness....install that wire harness and the dash light goes off

Interesting....Ive had the battery light on after installing random aftermarket alts in various cars. I wonder if running an additional 12v switch wire like that would of remedied it.
