Motor Plate Questions
All,
In the middle of a large project and I have a couple questions.
I've never ran a motor plate or mid plate on a car before, but I can only imagine that the motor plate requires the accessories to be pushed out the width of the plate?
Also, I have to assume that the mid plate pushes the torque tube out and requires longer bolts
Like I said, never been in this position before, looking for advice from anyone who has. I searched the forum and couldn't find what I'm looking for.

Basically you are correct, It will push the accessories out by the thickness of the plate. You can mill down the brackets to offset the thickness of the front plate.
As for a Mid plate. They make a crank spacer that is the same thickness as the mid plate to space out whatever mounts on the back of the crank whether it is a Flywheel or a Flex Plate.

I got my parts from AMP Distributing. You'll need a regular T56 bellhousing and you have to change the "frontplate" of the trans from the Corvette one to a Camaro one. That part is usually sold to people who are converting a SBC T56 to an LS1 T56. I haven't completed the job yet, but supposedly the original input shaft will work.I've got some ideas on the shift linkage, but that is on hold until I get the rear subframe done.
