I'm surprised that there are a couple examples here of E10-era fuels lasting for so many years. I have not had that sort of luck myself. I had a deceased relative's '96 Fleetwood sit from 2003 to 2011 in an attached garage (semi-climate controlled) with nearly a full tank, after 8 years the gas was completely unusable.

I always use Stabil in my garage queens because they rarely see more than 1-2 tanks of gas per year. But even Stabil only extends the life to 12-24 months at most. After that, it's a gamble with E10 gas.

This thread reminds me. This is the first year I have ever converted anything to flex fuel. I need to top up the tank in the GTO with 93 to cut down on the E percentage since I don't drive it much in winter. I still kept the tank sealed with the factory evap intact when I switched to a sumped and baffled fuel cell, though, so I don't expect much of an issue.

All i run in my 2007 Silverado Classic is E85. I don't drive it during the winter so about 5 months for me. I start it every 2 weeks and let it warm up completely. Never had a problem. Tank is almost full.

Back then gas never went bad. The new gas with ethanol i have seen ruin a carb on a weedwhacker that didn't run for just 5 months.

I wouldn't say it's still good fuel, but in my case it does start and run, no knock etc. but I wouldn't go WOT with it at 11.8:1, that's for sure.. As soon as it's drivable, Im going to limp it down the road and get fresh fuel.

In 2019 I got my 99 out of storage with a full tank of 2+ year old gas in it. Put a fresh charged battery in it, turned the key, and it fired up in barely a crank cycle. I was surprised. Aside from being filthy from sitting in a storage unit and the flat-spotted tires (that somehow were still at 34 PSI), it drove perfectly. I even got on it a little bit after it warmed up and it was ready to go, didn't skip a beat.

5 year old gas may be a different story though.

My Miata has sat for a year with Stabil and I didn't have any issues.

I've ran cars with that old of gas before. Just mix it with new and go.

you can jump the fuel pump relay thats in the driver side engine bay and run a 3/8 fuel hose from the fuel line output at the rail (fits snug in the quick connect) to a portable fuel canister.
