Default QTP C5 Tri Y Header Dyno Numbers!

Well we finally had a chance to get these installed on a car and dynoed. I hooked up with Mike@ J&M Motorsports in Manchester CT and he called one of his customers that had a C5. I rolled up there yesterday to get our C5 tri Y header on the C5. Its 2004 Convertible Corvette with only a black wing lid and B&B exhaust.

Install
Very easy and straight foward. After the factory components where out we stated to install the headers. Driver side from the bottle and passanger side from the top. Slid right in. Just the altenator and start where unbolted. Tighten up the header bolts and put the alt and started back in. Hook up the x pipe with cats. Slipped right on and then bolted it up to the rear section. Install time took under 5 hrs and with us taking our time. Very clean install and excellent clearance to the oil pan and body.

Started the car up drove it around the block and then strapped it to the dyno. We didnt expect much of a dyno gain because of the car didnt have time to adjust for the headers. I like at least a week or so for everything to settled in.
Well it still did well on the dyno.
Mods before 308.4hp 318.9
Stock 04 C5, Blackwing Lid, B&B Catback
After 332.9hp 348.6tq
QTP Stainless Steel Tri Y Headers
Catalytic X pipe

A nice gain across the board. From 2000 rpm all the way to the red line. This is with NO TUNING! FACTORY TUNE RIGHT OFF THE LIFT! NO OFF ROAD PIPE!

31.2 hp and 34.1 tq @4800 rpm and an average horse power increase of 28.4hp & 29.4tq from 3800-6000. Power where you want it!

Needless to say i was happy with the results and so was Mike@J&M and so was Frank the owner of the C5. The car will be coming back to J&M in a couple of weeks to get tuning to see what we can squeeze out of it.

Here is a chart of the dyno graphs that i put in to an excel spread sheet and shows the difference between the before and after. There will be some parts of the sheet with missing rpms. Thats due to the dyno.

Damn that's some nice gains Barry. I wish something like that would fit the f-bodies. I will end up getting a set of your headers one of these days.

Congrats. Those are beautiful that's for sure.
