News about KN filter kits the KN filter kits have not been available for some time ....as well as replacement filters for said kits....NOT ONE vendor has these items available....I finally called KN to ask if these items are discontinued....the answer is NO....the end pieces on the filter are carbon fiber and they are having difficulty finding a supplier to make them ..but good news....I did ask if they make those pre filter covers for that filter....answer...KN does not....but....a company ....OUTERWEARS does ...the P/N for a pre filter is 20-2269....I ordered me one 
I have to ask what the point is of putting on a "high flow" filter, then choking it out with one of those covers? No matter how well that material flows (not very), it still has far less surface area than the filter does.

The rear mount turbo guys sometimes use them in the rain for that reason, because the filter hangs a few inches off the ground. If you forget to take them off when the road is dry enough to play the difference in flow is very noticeable. Unless you are fording rivers I can't imagine what good it is doing you in that filter location. You have only the lost airflow with zero benefit.
