Default Tiny plastic vac. line on back of intake manifold?

I am putting my intake manifold back on the car, and noticed this tiny plastic vacuum line sitting back near the MAP sensor harness and brake booster line.

Does anyone know what this thing does? I think it goes inside the rubber 90-degree fitting that fits onto the back of the intake manifold, but its so short there doesn't look like there is any way of connecting the 2 with the motor in the car.

I can connect the 2 other things easily (MAP sensor and brake booster line), but this hose is way too short. Am I looking at the wrong thing? Could the real hose have fallen back into the engine bay somewhere?

Anyone know that it does? Maybe I could just leave it disconnected and plug the hole...

Thanks for any help,
Grant

I believe it's the vacuum line for the A/C and heat vents. I believe the connection is under the MAP sensor plug.

pop up headlights? Go back to 1970 John HAHA!

It is for you vents behind the dash. When you switch from defrost, to upper level, to lower level, the vacuum is used to open and close the ducting behind the dash.

Yeah without that tube hooked up the air will only blow through the defrost and floor vents.

I broke mine too. I just put a vacuum cap on the intake.
