Just to let everyone know, I was having this problem to. I had posted on this thread awhile back and had my own thread going. I had tried everything, injectors, plugs, wires, coilpacks, etc... It ended up being my bank 2 front o2 sensor, I never threw an o2 code of any kind only code I ever got was #6 misfire. After 2 moths of trial and error I noticed that the main purple wire that went from my o2 sensor to my bank 2 A/F ratio gauge had been melted and freyed so it was grounding out and getting wet. I changed the sensor and replaced the wire and had not had a problem since. For those of you that don't know, the purple wire is the one you get your readings from. Like I said I never got any type of o2 code but that was the problem. My symptoms were the same as yalls, stumbling, bogging down, acted like it was flooding out or not accepting the gas I was giving it etc... Later I had the same symptoms again, checked my code and it was cylinder #1 misfire and of course this time it was my bank 1 A/F gauge wire had melted. Same problems, same fix. No more problems in months, now that I have carefully routed the wires and replaced the o2's. Moral to the story is don't be a dumb *** like myself and take extra time to route the wires away from heat as far as posible so this doesn't happen to you. If you don't have A/F gauges I would still check the o2 wires on the factory harness and the pig tail leaving the sensor it self.

I have ran about 2 tanks through it since then and it still doing it. Any Ideas? The car has about 72000 miles on it I was thinking maybe injectors?

my car stumbled really bad in the rain when my old 02s got wet. but i got new ones and its fine. Also once i had a spark plug come out and its ran like total ****.

Get a tune up, tr55 plugs and msd wires, new fuel filter, clean air filter, and maybe get a LS1 edit tune. can bump your timing and set new idle etc... more power too.

I was waiting until I got to the end of this very long thread, to post my reply. But it seems like you finally figured it out. But this is what my post would have looked like. I had the same exact problem you where describing on my old Ranger. And my problem was the O2 sensor wiring had melted and grounded out causing my problem. So I say check the wiring. But you beat me to it. As for you other guys this may sound stupid but I had a friend having the same problems and it ended up being his gas cap wasn't sealing completely. Different type of vehicle but same problems. FYI

mine started doing the same thing.. stumbing and cutting off after the converter install.... cant figure we messed anything up as this was a long time ago.. even scanned it with a friends hp tuners to read codes... im running colder plugs at idle and with the stall it was throwing misfire codes, but wasn't really miss firing.. cut off at lights ect.. bumped the idle up with the tb screw to about 900rpms and the computer cuts that down to about 650-700, however it doens't cut off or stumble at 650-700 so ill probably leave it like that until, i get hp tuners or a dyno tune with my cam.

Have you tried using the GM intake cleaner or the Deep Creep cleaner. It is the product where you spray it in the Throttle Body while the car is running then cut the car off let it sit for a while then take it for a drive and it cleans it out. Then you have to do a oil change afterwards. If this is not it it don't hurt to try. You have to keep the revs up or the car will die when spraying this stuff in.

I have the same problem ever since the sheathing on my driver side O2 sensor got ripped off. The car runs very rough like it has a 800 pound gorilla on the hood. It only runs right when the gas is nailed. I will replace with a new O2 extension and see what happens.

Still not any closer to finding the problem on my 98. The driver side O2 sensor extension was replaced and it did not help. I notice as I drive around town, the temperature gauge is reading higher than it used to so I may try replacing the temperature sensor found on the driver side head.

Changed the engine coolant temperature sensor and problem is still there. Next on the list are the O2 sensors and the routing of the wires and extensions.

Did you guys ever get this figured out? Sounds like your region mat have gotten a bad round of gas . Wonder if it had anything to do with the refinery being shut down and restarted after the hurricane ? Maybe they screwed it up. A lot of different stations use the same gas or have it delivered by a distributor which provides an opportunity to do shenadigans with the gas, but that is a different story.

Would be nice if it was that simple, but this has been happening to me long before any hurricanes. Although, strangely, it hasnt happened to me lately (in the winter) seems to happen most commonly in the summertime.

Checked the routing of the O2 sensors and wires and they are away from the heat source. Changed the PCV and it is working well. Now taking my original O2 sensors and cleaning them in isopropyl alcohol. Then I will remove the Denso O2 sensors and do the same. May have to get the Corvette rear high wattage sensors for my headers. I will keep updating.

Cleaned the oxygen sensors in 91% isopropyl alcohol and then ran the torch over them. Put them in and the problem is gone. Gas mileage is back to normal and so is the power.

So has everyone got their problem fixed? I have had the same deal for about 8 months now and still no fix. Changed plugs, fuel filter, cleaned MAF. If there are any suggestions other then thes that have been posted please post. Im still gettin the P0300 code, may try autozone's scanner and see if I can see which cylinder. For the guys that posted vacuum leak, where should I check for that?

Please start another thread. Once a thread gets this long, it gets hard to weed through all the info.
