Default LT + hi flow cats + new y + SLP D/D

Hello,

I am getting ready to upgrade the exhaust flow
and am looking at LTs but need cats because of emission testing.
I have the 2000 SS so I need provisions for the EGR plumbing.

I also want to stick with the SLP dual/dual because of the
acceptable noise in all rpms ranges.

I have no idea if LTs with hi flow cats will be a lot louder than
stock manifolds with cats, given the same cat back exhaust system.

According to my Dyno simulations, going to LT headers would be
the biggest bolt on gain at this point (have mild cam and ported heads,
LS6 intake, ported TB, and free mods) excluding forced induction.

So, I guess what I am asking is:

Which LTs + hi flow cats + y-pipe give not significant noise
increase, are "easy to install (will be by myself) and fit into
the SLP d/d cat back exhaust (the y-pipe needs to fit into the intermediate 3 " pipe from SLP). I m not looking forward to have to loosen motor mounts
and lift the motor a bit etc. - would be great if this could be avoided.

I am not looking for the cheapest system, but for lowest noise,
"easy" installation, good fit and long life.

Thanks,

Gert

All LTs produce a significant increase in noise, but I think that you'll be safe if you go with a set of CATS as long as your cat-back isn't a LoudMouth. As far as a header recommendation; PaceSetters are good quality but they are a hit/miss deal. Sometimes you have to grind the casting flash on the block and they currently do not offer a Catted Y. JetHots and Hookers would be your next option considering cost and your need for CATS. good luck. Why don't you look up JRP's exhaust guide. It should be a STICKY in the NEW LS1 or EXT ENGINE section.
