Default SES and Header install. Do they go hand in hand?

After your header install did you set an SES Light? If so...
What code did you throw?
How did you get it to go out?

If heard some pleople say they just live with the ses light on after a header install. To me I find that unacceptable and think something must have been done incorrectly to cause a scenario like that. What do you think?

most ppl get ses lights because they remove the AIR and EGR and delete the rear o2s. with a tune you can get these removed so you wont throw a code. everyone else either gets a code cuz they missed a plug wire or forgot to hook something up.

Pretty much covered it all. The headers itself do not throw SES codes.

Quite a few people, including myself, have P1133 and P1153 codes (insufficient switching on the front O2 sensors) after long tube installation.

Check for leaks around your cats if you still have them.

I have a related question on this...if one were to leave that SES light (ie: one that came strictly from removing the EGR/AIR/rear O2s etc, not from any other source) on for an extended period of time, would this cause problems eventually?
As in the computer starting to pull timing/go into 'reduced power/limp home' mode or anything?

I only ask because I'm considering doing LTs/ORY and pulling EGR/AIR (stock internal car) but not getting tuning right away yet still racing the car.

Wouldn't affect anything by removing those. They are just for emissions.

I get O2 heater codes but only when its cold out, no light in the summer. I think its from the sensor being too far downstream and it being too cool. I think you can tell the PCM through LS1edit not to turn the light on for those codes.
