Help me figure out this sound

Help me figure out this sound I tried to make a sound clip of the sound im getting from my drivers side head/header area but all that came out was engine and exhaust noise and i couldn't hear this sound throught he sound clip so i will try to explain this the best i can.
Under 1/2 throttle in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear from 1800 to about 2500 rpms im gettingt his ackward sound that i can hear coming from the engine side of the dash/behind the gauges. When the car is in nuetral and i hit the throttle on the tb, when i let up off of it and the rpms come down i can also hear it.
Its a ticking/tapping/squeeking/snapping/raspy kind of sound, my first idea was an exhaust leak so i checked my !air block off plate on the drivers side, and there was a leak in that, so i fixed it with some new gaskets...but it didn't cure this issue. Now that the sound from that is gone i can really locate where its coming from. Definately behind the AIR system. I checked the gasket for the header with a mirror to see if there were any leaks and didn't find anything. I haven't got under the car yet to see if its coming fromt he collector, but it sounds almost like its coming from the 3rd coil pack on the drivers side. But i also know an exhaust leak can echo...
I mostly want to know what kind of noise the car would make it there is piston slap, or if i bent a push rod? The car doesnt seem to feel like its lost any performance.
if anyone has had a similar issue or might be able to help me figure out a good place to start to fix it please let me know, any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Fom what you have described, I would check to see if any of the spark plugs are loose, and if you have your O2 sensors in, I would check to make sure that the sensors are all tight. I would also double check the header connection on the heads, try using the small end of a funnle and put it around the connections to try to hear any noises. If you still can't find anything, I would take it to a shop and have them look at it. Good luck.

hmm ill check my spark plugs, i just changed them two weeks ago or so...ill almost bet that my issue is with the 3rd one, cause i could hear the sound mostly from that coil pack. Thanks for the idea ill check that out this evening
