Default hooker catback problems, please help!

OK, for starters the tips are way too long, but I don't know how far they are supposed to stick out, I have nothing for comparison. Could someone please post pics of their hooker catbacks on the car?

Also, when I got back under the car to try to pull them in, I seated the I-pipe fully on the y-pipe, thinking this was why they stuck out, now just the one side(passenger)where I directly pulled the whole unit back, has moved in.
The other side is still at the same length!!

What would cause the catback to sit crooked like that? The driver's side will not move back at all. Is my only option to pull the unit off the y-pipe to even out the tips? When I first installed it, it naturally went in and seated about 1 1/2 inches short of where the stock pipe did. I am running the stock y-pipe for now, but an ORY is on for this weekend, please help me correct this.

If anybody has pix from under their car with a hooker catback on that would be amazing, especially close-ups of the hangers and connections. Who knows, maybe I have something screwed up.

Your y-pipe may be off centered. Check the hangers.

I just remembered I have pics of my LT1 with one on it. They should sit basically in the same place as the LS1 if you want a comparison. They are too big to post here, so lemme know if you want them.

Dunno what to tell ya, but my own Hooker catback, along with the other 10 systems i've installed never had a problem. Went right on without any problems. Never heard of an issue like yours. Sure you got the correct system for an F-body?

yes, my tips stick out twice as far as the one's in those pix, and the driver's side is even longer.

mine looks just like Venom's pics too. I have the SLP Y-pipe, but that's exactly as long as the stock Y.

Did you bottom out the "y" of the tips on the end of the tailpipes? Is the muffler where the stock one was? I can't imagine you could put it in upside down or anything like that Worst case, just cut a the tailpipes down. Good Luck - you'll enjoy it once you get it on there right!

P.S. One other tip - if you're re-using the stock I-pipe clamp, tighten it until right before you think the bolt will break - otherwise it will come loose and rattle.

OK, you guys be the judge, I have some good pix, please tell me what you think. If you look close, you can see the passenger side is farther in, this happened when I seated the I-pipe all the way down the y-pipe, when it was off the y-pipe(not fully seated) they were even. Ungodly long, but even.

You're gonna have to shorten the pipes connecting the tips..

That looks extremely tacky..
