Magnaflow and Cut Out?

Magnaflow and Cut Out? As of right now I have the magnaflow cat back on my car.
I read somewhere that it has been shown to flow within 1hp of a cut-out.
Question is, would it be worth it for me to get one? Sound doesnt really matter much to me, it's the extra hp that Im looking for.
