what does it take to put a 160 stat in?

I am replacing my thermostat, should I replace it witha 160 or does that involve all kinds of tunning? Any Info???

Not sure about the tuning, I used HPP3 to alter the fans operation ranges. As for install check out installuniversity.com for a guide.

I would put the 160 in. I put a 160 degree thermostat in my 02 SS. No tuning other than what was said in the post above with regards to using the HPP3 to change fan setting.

Take 30 min to put it in, but to make it useful, you need to lower the fan temps, which is done by tuning. Or get an SLP fan switch.

I agree, in addition keep in mind your engine won't actually run around 160*, that's just when the stat allows coolent to flow.

The stat starts opening around 160... and I think it's fully open at 175... I think... I'll go so far as to say almost positive...

Correction... It opens at 175, closes at 160.
