Default Please Critique Future Exhaust System...

Here's the plan for my new, speed bump friendly exhaust system.

-TTS LT Headers
-Custom 3" Y-pipe
-Carsound 3" Cats
-Dual Electric Cutouts, before Cats
-Dynomax I-pipe
-Flowmaster 80 Series Muffler
-Borla 20213 Intercooled Round Angle Cut Tips

If anyone has something remotely close to this let me know how you like it. If anyone has opinions or ideas let me know! Thanks a lot!

Get the hell away from that 80 series! Why would you go from duals to one of the worst flowing mufflers out there bro??

You bastard Mike. I got that part, but you arent going to run open cut-outs around here for very long without getting bent over the hood of your car by these damn cops. And that 80 series does not sound that good to begin with, and with LT's doesnt sound much better. Get something that sounds nice like a Hooker or Dual/Dual and have the cut-outs open when you need to blow away a little ricer or when you want to make a small child cry and go deaf. Why do you want the 80 series?

The longtubes will be the most help and it will sound better. I would keep the true duals with the long tubes at first and see how you like it.

Doesn't QTP make a system with both? If not, yes you won't get them both to fit (if you try to get them to go before the cats, (maybe a custom shop could do it, but it will be tight, and it may not be pointing the right way )

Stay away from the flowmaster. I guess you would want it for sound, but flowmaster does not sound very good at all with Long tubes. You can of course here it for youself at www.ls1sounds.com

If you have to go cats and you want the performence of the cut-outs, the TSP rumbler/LM will be good (IT WILL BE LOUD, even with the cats)

Ferocity, I'm at the same point you're at- my true duals (very similar to yours) are coming off in need of clearance.

My setup will soon be:
QTP HVM LT's, QTP Dual Elec Cutout Y, SLP 2OTL.

If you need cats, just put one cutout in the I (elec. preferrably).
Make sure you go with a Y-pipe that has a nice merge collector (Flowmaster 4" is a sweet piece).
I haven't actually ever heard the Flowmaster catback, but if you like the sound of it, go ahead- as you point out, that's what the cutout is there for.

Well, I am thinking Flowmaster because I need something that will be quiet when I need it to be, and I already have the muffler, so it's convinient. I will do my best to fit the cutouts before the cats. I had MAC's, ORY, and a cutout in the i-pipe and it wasnt loud enough. I think cutouts after the cats would be pointless, except for more flow, which the cats restrict some anyways....

Duals are not possible. 2.5" are way to expensive to do the way I want them to be done, out the back.

Beg to differ. Check out ls1sounds.com and look under the QTP section in Pics & Tips.

It would be tight but should be fine either way. You want quiet go with Magnaflow catback, nice rumble not very obnoxious, but straight through so little restriction. Sounds like combo that would rival true duals.

I've heard Magnaflow with FLP's and cats and its not quiet, at least not what I'm wanting from the closed cutout mode

I don't mean to step on any toes...

BUT 3" catted y and cutouts. You still won't have any clearance.

If your car wasn't lowered, this setup would be awesome and you'd have decent clearance.

I'd be willing to put cash on it that you'll have 2" to 2.5" clearance max at your lowest point (cats).

I hope that you get this all to work out for ya..

I am going to get true duals all the way back with two cutouts when I want it loud. Great flowing quiet muffler and loud when I want it to be.
