Default QTP Dual Cut-out Y-pipe

Anyone running the QTP dual cutout Y-pipe? I am thinking of just ordering the y without the Qtec's. This way i'll manually cap them up for the street, and manually take them off at the strip. I don't think i'd need to be running the QTEC's cause i doubt i'd ever run my car on the street with the cutouts open, being kinda LOUD and all... So what are some pro's and con's to this setup? Anyone?

the cutout y. I'm wandering how well this has worked for people who have used it, and how much i'd gain over running through a catback exhaust when uncapped.

thats what confuses me.

but anyway, cutouts are worth anywhere from 5-12rwhp depending on how restrictive your catback is.

I have a single QTP cut out for my Borla and love it. Makes it run just a little faster at the track maybe 1/2 a tenth on the 1/8 mile. What I really like is the adjustability of it. You can run it open, closed or anywhere in between with the turn of the switch.

I have always liked the way that system looks. The place they put the cut-out makes it come out pretty strait pipe.

The QTP cutout y-pipe is a nice piece, but can you really justify it's price? I'd buy a regular one and have some cutouts welded in instead. But that's just me.

3" hooker y-pipe, 3" flowtech race readies, qtp 3" electric cutouts
This was all setup for the floor pan of a '99 SS. I took it off and put it on my '00 Z28 and it is freaking low. By myself it will drag if im not paying attention. If one or two more people are in the car it will drag almost everywhere, NOT COOL. I never had any problems with ground clearance when it was on the SS though, its weird. I thought the floors were universal but i guess not???
AND if you run dual cutouts in this location you will run into problems with tuning. I had mine tuned for the street (closed) and when the cutouts are open the car runs lean, like "holy **** i dont need to be driving it this lean". Tuned for open it runs really rich while driving with them closed on the street.
