Wink

Do you own a SawzAll? You could just cut them out.... lol j/k

Replacing my SLP LT with Jet hots was one of the best upgrade mods I've done! I gained about 1-1.5 inches of ground clearance with the Jet Hots.

Alright. I've collected all the jacks, jackstands, and ramps that belong to my extended family all over town.

(2) 21" 3.5 ton floor jacks
(2) 17" 2 ton floor jacks
(2) 21" 6 ton jack stands
(2) 17" 4 ton jack stands
(4) Rhino ramps

For the extra oomph, 4"x4" blocks if necessary (I hope not).

I think I'm ready to get started.

Update:

SLP Headers and X-pipe safely came off today.

Instead of prying the tranny, we used a cable jack to pull it to the side.
It took us around 9 hours to take everything off.

Now, QTP's go on next weekend.

Thanks for all the tips provided in this thread. I'll continue with the updates and finally with a dyno comparo.

Definitely keep up posted! After fighting the SLPs, you're gonna be amazed at how easy the QTPs go in!

Damn that sucks about the SLP's. No wonder everyone hates them! My Jet Hot's only required the steering shaft to be disconnected to install them. The QTPs should suit you very well.

Guys - you're killing me. And here I really loved my SLP LT's...... Ground clearance stinks! And the Y Pipe knocking is driving me nuts. Is that the real reason the for change to Jet Hots? Or is there something else?

I remember my ( by myself) install well and can honestly say it was a complete & total pain. Doing the clutch at the same time and having the transmission completely out was about my only saving grace.

Just do everything in reverse procedure.
Thanks for your help man.

Remember to have someone support the header while you're tightening the header bolts- they (the header bolts) should go in real easy. That would be my biggest concern, other than pulling the tranny over.

Good luck and borrow any jacks/ramps from me if needed.
