I installed my QTPs about 3 weeks ago, and I never had any troubles either. Sounds like my install went the same as yours. I had a lift as well, soaked everything with Penetrant, and I was good to go. Didn't have to remove a damn thing Took me 6 hours total, as far as taking all the old crap off (EGR and AIR, too) and putting the headers/ORY in.

Looks nice...i put my QTPs in last June. Took about 5-7 hours. Passenger side went in great. Driver's side we removed the heat shield, unbolted the engine mount and jacked up the engine just a bit. With some force it went in.

What is this thing about being at the back of the block dealing with the AIR system? I removed my AIR and all there was, was some black plastic valve thing that the air tubes ran to at the back of the engine bay. Then there was this little black vacuum tube that i just plugged using a coil pack bolt.

Code4,
If you have not installed them yet, could you weigh the TSPs and your stock cat-back? I am considerring true duals too and am looking at all the differences. The price for on thing is great. A hole exhaust from the headers to the tips is around $500 where as a traditional cat-back would set you back 3-500+ then a y-pipe. I was thinking of getting the headers and Y to connect to my stock cat-back with cut-out, but it is so restrictive and heavy and only 2-3/4" so fitment of the Y would not be right.

Anyhow, if you could that would be cool.
Thanks.

Here we go, (I'm on my 3rd beer so maybe you can do the math)

TSP True Duals: X pipe, 9 lbs 4 oz
Both bullet mufflers with mounts, 17 lbs 14 oz
Rest of piping, 9lbs 0 oz
Two band clamps (didn't take them out of wraping) 1lb 12 oz
5 U clamps (I plan on welding mine) 3 lbs 12 oz

QTP headers: driver side, 10 lbs 14 oz
pass side, 11 lbs 10 oz
__________________________________________________ ________

Stock exhaust: (Understand that I have the Dynomouth cat back, stock muffler is gone. I only have an 18" bullet and dual pipes out the back. I had to cut the stock exhaust in two to remove. It is cut just behind the 18" bullet.)

Front half (Y) with mounts and bolts, 22 lbs 6 oz
Back half with mounts and bolts, 22 lbs 14 oz

Passenger manifold, 13 lbs 4 oz
Driver manifold, 13 lbs 0 oz

Pass side cat, 10 lbs 6 oz
driver side cat, 9 lbs 14 oz

__________________________________________________ __________

Hell now that I'm on a roll (& 5th beer)

I removed all of the pass side heat shield and rear heat shield for the factory muffler/exhaust with little bolts, ( I left the driver side as it protects the fuel line & clutch line), 6 lbs 6 oz

Air Pump complete assembly with bolts, clamps, hoses etc., 8 lbs 8 oz

Cool, thanks man. Here's to you .
So these are for the Dynomouth exhaust, not the stocker. OK cool. So the stocker would actually be heavier.
Dynomouth=45lbs2oz
Stock Mans=26lbs4oz
Stock Y-pipe w/cats=?
Headers=22lbs8oz
TSP True Duals=41lbs10oz(with all harware)

71lbs6oz-64lbs2oz=7lbs4oz+Stock Y w/cats=Pretty light.

Well according to the weight reduction list the stock cat-back is about 50lbs and removing the cats is another 15lbs (doesn't have the y). So I would say another 26lbs from stock for a total savings of 33lbs4oz (I assumed the Y is 20lbs). Not too bad for just changing the exhaust around.

Sorry I forgot to put the cat weights, they are on there now. The "Y" pipe was left on the 1st half of the exhaust, so all you have to add is the two cats. BTW I used a very accurate scale and took the time to be very precise.
