The merge more effectively scavenges the exhaust.

So how will this system bolt up to say a TSP true dual? With 3.5" collectors this is going to be a problem.

Shouldn't be much problem, just get a reducer for each side, i would think.

yes, just get a pair of collector reducers from jegs...they have slip-on reducers, made by hooker, part number 520-11136, for$24.99 a pair. they go from the 3 1/2" to 3"

Thanks, but won't this extend the exhaust like 4"+ back? Then the mounting brackets won't line up. Or are these collectors shorter than traditional ones?

i am not sure on the length of the collectors, you would have to bolt them on and see for your self.

i am sure you could make it fit, you would just have to cut some of the piping off to make room for the reducers. that would be a killer setup if you did. let me know.

it looks like they are going to be $389.99 for the headers and $104.99 for the ORY give or take on both.

Plus 50 or so to weld on the collectors. If they were welded on and did not come with AIR and EGR stuff I would be sold on these at that price for sure.

So i bought shorty's for 479.00 my question is did i get raped on the price? Or is that about right? N one more question how hard is it to install them into a 1999 ws6 trans am?

I can offer an opinion on the Pacesetter's because I just installed mine tonight. The passenger side, piece of cake. Just raised it staright into the car. The driver side, piece of pie only because I had to take 5 minutes or less to take the steering shaft loose and swing it up out of the way and then that header just popped right in. After they were torqued down they cleared EVERYTHING by a mile. I got big hands (13.5 ring finger) and I could put my hand all around the k member at the collectors. The coating was perfect. They have a nice thick 3/8" flange. At 375 bucks coated they cant be beat IMO.
I agree with you 100% check out this link to see more about the pacesetters. There are pics of mine in the thread.

Check out that link. This is who I bought mine from. For 357.99 plus shipping of 35.00 he will sell them for every application even race style. He has them drop shipped from a big company. Best price you will find on pacesetter.

Damn, what's the deal. Did I over look it or do the edelbrocks not come in a race version with no smog provisions.
