Default HELP PLZ! Think I broke something

I was doing my LS6 intake swap, and I think I snapped off the knock sensor behind the intake. It is black cyilindrical plastic peice with a green quick connect going to it. Is it what i think it is? I heard in passing to be careful of it, so I though I was being careful, but by the time the intake was out of the way, I saw that it was broken.

Now, I need to know what I need to do in order to fix it. Possibly a part number from GM. Do they normally carry them in stock? It looks to screw into the block, so do I need to do anything special to get a new one in there. I take it that I cant put the new intake on until I get this fixed, so please someone help me with some info as soon as possible.

Nothing is ever easy.

Sounds like the oil sending unit. Your local GM dealer should have it.

Oh ok, are they expensive? Do I have to do anything special when re-installing it? Thanks for the help.

They're not cheap... I think they list for $30, part#12559781... You also need a special socket to remove & install it.

Most dealers do not sell tools, so probably not... Any parts store should carry them though(Oreiley's,Autozone,Napa etc..)

You said it was a "special" socket. Any idea what they would call it?

Probably be labled "GM oil sender socket" or something like that, not really sure... I broke my as well when doing the swap & fortunatley it was at work in the service dept.. Luckily my buddy, who is a tech, had one.. I ask him & that's where he said you could get them... Good luck with it.

That is actually your "Oil Pressure Sensor" if you're refering to #2 in the diagram I attached... it needs to be torqued to 15 ft lbs so if you use a crecent wrench or open ended wrench and get it pretty snug it will be good enough.

Yeap thats exactly what did it, the brake booster line.

Thanks for the offer to help though. But I wouldnt want you to have to drive all the way up here for an intake install. I figured something that easy I couldnt mess up. (Guess I forgot who I was dealing with... Me hehe)

I thought I had it. Seemed easy enough LOL. I guess I never learned the word "Gentle" in school or something.

Ah well, ill get the thing worked out tomorrow.

Thanks Fellas.
