Help with pulley install

Default Help with pulley install

I torqued the pulley down to 220 ft-lbs with the old crank bolt but it still dosen't seem like its on all the way. There is still about ~1/8" of pulley sleeve sticking out of the crank snout (if laying on th floor and looking behind the pulley. And this is equally so on the inside meaning the the crank bolt wouldn't sit flush with the snout. Is this suppose to be like this? I don't think my belts would line up. I was hard enough getting in the top side with my dad's 4ft long torque wrench. Thanks.

I am almost certain that if you put 220 lb ft of torque on it that it is fully seated. On the ASP there is a lip on the back that makes it look like it isn't fully seated. I think this is for double roller chains? Anyway I would install my belts and see if it is aligned. I bet it will be. Of course don't forget to put in the new bolt @ 37 ft lb plus 140 degrees (if I remember correctly) Good luck.

I did out on the lower belt and it looked perfectly centered around the belt tensioner pulley. Anymore onto the snout and it would have fell off the tensioner. I also noticed that the stock has a little bit of untouched area too. THanks

My ASP still had some of it hanging over, I am pretty sure it's supposed to be like this, because the belts line up perfectly.

i torqued mine down to 250lbs and it didn't seem all the way where it was supposed to be. i tried to take it out and it wouldn't come out. When i finally got it out the bolt was stripped at the tip everything worked out. good luck

i just cut the bolt where it was stripped and slid it back it. problem solved

I put anti-sieze on the crank snout and the inside of the pulley hub so it would slide on easier.
