Header people Quick Question?
Header people Quick Question? I recently purchased a used set of Coated Hooker LTs. First of all the person selling them didnt tell me they have a small leak where the AIR provisions meet the primaries. Its basically on the weld, and its very minor. Where could I have this repaired? Second question, only the bottom part of the headers(collector area) is getting a lil rusty and loosing its coating, what options do I have? To either fix that or prevent it from further rusting. Last question since they are used I dont know how, but there is a small dent on one primary would this hurt performance of the header? Any comments are welcomed and appreciated. Thanx.
With the leak you might be able to get away with a little JB weld. The options you have with coating are to get them recoated obviously or just let be, they all rust sooner or later. I dont think a small dent is going to effect performance.
A muffler shop can patch that up. Dont use JB weld, do it once do it right. Slap them on dont worry about rust or a dent.....it happens. You should see mine, they are horrable. I need to weld a skid plate on them before a dent goes all the way through. David (Jr) at Midas in Temple can probably patch that leak up if you cant find anybody.
