now part of the infamous club...
im no pro but ive seen about 15 different ls1 motors in different stages of assembley
including a few C5R blocks ( damn there nice ) and like you say, after seeing the stock rods and bolts, i knew when i got my cam it was staying at 6200.....
even if i am leaving 10hp on the table!
anyway..... cant wait to hear your car..... keep us posted on your progress.....
oh, and stop breaking stuff man..... WTF.
My sending unit had one male connector. The parts people at chevy said that the newer models had two male connectors. I had to special order to get the one male conector sensor. The part # for the one male connector sending unit is 12562267
The two male conector model part number is 12085500
I paid $32
worked so far, but who knows for how long

Not on my car ofcourse. But ther is a Purple one out there that looks like a prime candidate

And from page 1 of this post comes part # 12559781
On SPDC
12559781 is a sensor
12562267 is a sensor AS
Which part # is it really?

Found a reference to the part # on a vette forum; looks like it's a sender for a 2000 Coupe Vette.
Can I still use it? I'll have to see if it looks like my old busted one.
I know it doesn't look like the one in the picture:
12562267
From https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=12557752
And attached is a pic of my new sensor and old. The new is on the left, it has 3 prongs in the electrical portion. The old sensor has 1 prong.
Shep, you were right , I'll have to send this one back and get 12562267.
i'd never seen the stock bottom end before, it looks like ****. or maybe im just used to seeing my forged bottom end with all arp bolts and studs.
On another note, alot of LT1 people are spinning 6500+ at over 100k with no problems. Yeah there are many who spin bearings doing that, but there are many who haven't too. LS1's are stronger, so I don't see why there is even an issue with 6500 unless you're putting down over 600rwhp on an LS1 over 100k unless the oil was never changed on it.

I can see why they redesigned it. And I have a spare "new style" sensor but it won't plug into my harness. What are the two additional pins for? I wonder if the new sensor can be spliced into the old style harness somehow? There would be two wires not functional but maybe they aren't necessary???
