Default Tension pulley question

Are there bearings in the pulley to make it have a churping noise? Mine does it when its cold then after it warms up good its fine. If I replace it can I just replace the pulley or is it the whole assembly thats got to be replaced? Is there a how to take off and put on anywhere that I could look at and read? Also this is on a 2000 SS that is bone stock.

I could just be the belt. You can buy some 'belt dressing' & spray that on to see if it goes away.

But yes, ther are bearings in it. You can buy a pretty replacement from MBA. I think Thunder sells them too. Very easy to replace. Email me & I'll type you up the instructions.

Instructions..
Remove the belt.
I can't remember if it's a 13mm or 15mm socket to remove the pulley. It basically just screws onto the block.

Takes 5 min to swap out.

Are you talking about the whole assembly or just the pulley? Can I just buy a new pulley and not the whole thing? Does anyone know of any part numbers for just the tensioner pulley ( not the assembly ) for a 2000 SS?

Thanks but trying to find out if I can just replace the pulley without buying the whole assembly. Part numbers would be great if anyone knows what just the pulley part number would be.

Yes. The tensioner pulley can be replaced. You can get it for about $10 at autozone. It has the bearing built into the pulley (the pulley is actually plastic). I am not sure if that will solve your chirping problems though.

The idler pulley is Dayco 89007, and the tensioner pulley is Dayco 89015.
